Representatives Ron Wait and Dave Winters Host Tele-Town Hall Meeting

Belvidere, IL…State Representative Ron Wait (R-Belvidere) and State Representative Dave Winters (R-Shirland) announced they will be hosting a Tele-Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:30 PM.  Tele-Town Hall Meetings provide a convenient opportunity for residents to ask questions, share their concerns, and receive assistance with state government services.

“With gas prices rising to more than $4.00 a gallon, Representative Wait and I decided to host this meeting over the phone so constituents could communicate their concerns and ideas with us from the comfort and convenience of their own home,” said Winters.  “We hope to reach as many of our constituents as possible so we can better represent them in Springfield and throughout our districts.”

Representatives Wait and Winters will be in Belvidere, on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:30 PM in Representative Wait’s District Office, when the phone calls will start.

“Tele-Town Hall Meetings are a great way for us as lawmakers to reach out to our constituents,” said Wait.  “Within minutes area residents living in the 68th and 69th legislative districts will be phoned and invited to participate in the meeting.  We will open the phone line up for questions or comments and there will be an opportunity for everyone wishing to leave feedback to do so at the end of the call.  It’s a great way for constituents to get a briefing on what has been happening in Springfield and for them to communicate back with us.  We look forward to hearing from those we represent.”

When the Tele-Town Hall Meeting begins, constituents will receive a phone call from their representative.  Then they will be given the option of dialing into the call or getting off the line.  If a constituent wants to be part of the Tele-Town Hall Meeting, all they have to do is follow the instructions given over the phone, and they will be able to hear the discussion, ask questions, and voice concerns.
